Barry Schwartz: Using our practical wisdom

Currently fascinated by Stephen Wolfram’s work in Computational Knowledge. Probably my new favorite site: WolframAlpha, a computational knowledge engine. Equally intriguing is Wolfram’s earlier (and still current) work Mathematica, technical and scientific software. Benoît Mandelbrot was mentioned at the end of the talk for having “shown how complexity can arise out of a simple start”. He was in the audience at the time. Benoît has since passed away (October 2010). Talk via TED.
